LOGISTICS MEMBER

The Logistics Subteam ensures that Team Polar’s operations are efficient, compliant, and mission-ready. Working closely with the Business Subteam, it plays a key role in transforming the Antarctic expedition from concept to reality. The team is responsible for coordinating all logistical, operational, and partner-related aspects required to move the rover, team members, and equipment across Europe and eventually to Antarctica.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Mission planning: Develop and maintain a long-term operational roadmap to enable the Antarctic expedition 

  • Partner and contact development: Identify and approach logistics partners, Antarctic research stations, and national programmes to secure support, transport, and access to infrastructure

  • Collaboration with Business: Align with the Business Subteam on partnership strategies, budget allocations, and sponsorship agreements relevant to logistics and mission preparation

  • Transport and shipment: Plan and oversee the movement of the rover, tools, and spare parts by land, air, or sea, ensuring reliability and safety

  • International coordination: Manage customs documentation, permits, and compliance with international standards for equipment transport and field operations

  • Inventory and asset tracking: Maintain accurate records of materials, components, and consumables to ensure readiness for testing and deployment
